**Murui Nation (Huitoto) Strong and Salty:  the ambil and mountain salt are prepared by the people of the Murui (Huitoto) Nation.  It is blended by Jiru Deona, Juan Camilo Restrepo Giraldo, legal representative of the HijuePacha Foundation based in Medellin, Columbia.  

This Ambil is cooked in a ceremonial way, three days in honor of the Mother's blood, the sap of the Blood tree, ancestral medicine of the people of center, children of grandfather herb, coca and cassava. The Ambil is made with fresh Amazonian grandfather plants, with Maraco or Bacao slime and mixed with the best quality wild salt.

Ocaina Ambil:

This Palo Santo comes from a small farm in the Piura region of Peru and was sustainably harvested more than 25 years ago, long before the species received protected status and modern harvesting regulations were introduced. Stored for decades, this aged wood represents a piece of Palo Santo history.

Why Old-Growth Palo Santo Matters

Palo Santo is an exceptionally slow-growing tree. The finest aromatic wood develops after many years, as natural resins and essential oils gradually concentrate within the heartwood.

Unlike much of the Palo Santo available today, which often comes from much younger trees, this old-growth wood comes from trees estimated to have matured for 15 years or more before being sustainably harvested. Its rich, dark color is a hallmark of mature heartwood, prized for its depth of aroma and naturally high resin content.

These Tepis are built to last and will serve you well for many years if taken care of. These are smaller in size from many of our previous models and measure about 9" inches length from base to tip.

We will be sending you the color choice you pick but as these are handmade and of natural materials they do vary a bit in shape and size slightly.
