    Introduction

    Katukina.us Affiliate Spotlight Series:

With headlines and news feeds that often highlight what’s wrong with the world, we’d like to share what’s right with it. We at Katukina.us wanted to start sharing good news and inspiring people making a difference in this world. We wanted to learn about their practice, what their favorite offering is that we carry, what their ritual and connection to it looks like, and why they believe our family at Katukina.us is the right choice for esoteric supplies and ethnobotanicals sourced responsibly that honor direct reciprocity.

Katukina.us is more than a business - it is a collection of heart-centered people, wanting to live better lives and make the world a better place. As such, we have the honor and privilege of connecting with and meeting some of the most inspiring people to walk this life with. We call them friends of Katukina.us, but they are so much more... to us, they are family.

Our Friends & Affiliates Spotlight Series celebrates these individuals — the rainbow light warriors who carry these traditions forward with reverence, who hold safe containers for transformation, and who embody the values of ethical, intentional practice. Each featured practitioner has a story, a calling, and a message worth sharing.

We are honored to introduce our first spotlight in this series, someone who has directly impacted our journey and helped us get to where we are today: Laura Kazimer — the breathwork queen and facilitator, the plant medicine practitioner, and ceremonialist whose path with the medicines has been one of deep personal transformation and community service.

    Sharing Your Practice

    Discover My Ritual:

How do Katukina.us's offerings support your personal rituals or the space you hold for others? What is an example?

Katukina.us’s offerings have supported both my personal rituals and the spaces I hold for others in a deeply meaningful way. Working with the medicine of hapé has helped me connect with my spirit on a profound level—it was one of the first medicines I ever sat with, and it played a key role in shaping my practice, my beliefs, and my spirituality.

As I began incorporating hapé into the spaces I hold, I witnessed others experience a sense of calm, grounding, and centeredness—often entering deep meditation for the first time. An example of this is during group or one-on-one sessions, where participants share how supported and present they feel through the medicine.

What I truly love about Katukina.us is that the offerings carry not just the medicine itself, but also the spirit of the community and the tribes behind it, which is something that can be felt and honored in every ritual and container I facilitate.

    The Featured Medicine

If you could recommend just one product from our collection to a fellow practitioner, which would it be — and why?

If I had to recommend just one product to a fellow practitioner, it would be the Yamanja blend. This was the first blend where I felt a deep, powerful connection to the spirit of the medicine, and that experience has stayed with me ever since.

The medicine carries a strong, supportive presence that translates beautifully back into everyday life. While it’s honestly hard to choose just one—because there are several offerings I deeply love—the Yamanja hapé blend stands out for its ability to facilitate connection, grounding, and a felt sense of reverence for the medicine.

That depth and consistency are why it’s the one I would most confidently recommend from Katukina.us.

    Why Katukina.US

What makes Katukina.us your trusted source for these medicines or tools?

What makes Katukina.us my trusted source is that it truly feels like a family. Some of my deepest connections have come through Katukina—the facilitators, the community, and the tribes they are in relationship with. There is a level of integrity, care, and reverence that is felt, not just spoken. Katukina has genuinely helped shape my medicine journey.

I was already serving breathwork before working with hapé, but hapé supported me in stepping even further into my path, deepening both my personal practice and the way I hold space for others. What makes Katukina special is that they don’t just offer medicine or tools—they steward relationships, lineage, and spirit, and that difference is unmistakable.

    Integrity & Responsibility

What does ethical, intentional use of plant medicine mean in your work?

Ethical, intentional use of plant medicine in my work begins with safety—always. That means creating truly safe containers, carefully vetting facilitators, thoughtfully screening participants, and ensuring everyone is fully informed and aligned before sitting with the medicine. This includes health histories, honest conversations, and discernment around whether someone is genuinely a good fit at that time. The medicine will do its job—we know this—but our responsibility is to steward the space with integrity and care.

Another essential aspect of ethical use is integration support. Whether the experience is a breathwork journey, a hapé ceremony, or a deep ayahuasca journey, integration is where the real work happens. Supporting people in making meaning of their experience and grounding it in daily life is, in my opinion, the most important part of working ethically with these medicines.

    Community & Mission

What are you currently building, protecting, or devoted to that you'd love our community to know about?

I’m currently building something really close to my heart—a retreat experience in Ecuador with a beautiful group of participants (learn more or book here). I will host two retreats there this year. While there, we will work closely with powerful medicines, including hapé from Katukina.us, creating safe, transformative spaces for connection and growth.

Alongside the retreats, I’m also developing a breathwork training program to guide and mentor new facilitators, introducing them to this work and the medicine. My hope is to continue cultivating a supportive, growing community where the practice, the medicine, and the people who hold space for it can thrive together

We are honored to walk alongside practitioners like Laura — who carry the medicines with reverence, who build community with intention, and who understand that this work is as much about the space held as the medicine shared. Her devotion to safe, ethical facilitation and her trust in the offerings of Katukina.us reflect exactly the kind of relationship we seek to cultivate with every partner, affiliate, and member of our community.
